Job Description

Position Overview\n

The Manager, Payroll & HR Operations owns multi-state, multi-entity payroll and the HR systems and records that support it, and builds newly acquired practices into those systems as Parallel ENT & Allergy grows through acquisition.

\n

This is a hands-on role that runs 28+ payrolls per month for approximately 550 employees across multiple states and legal entities, including physician (K-1) payrolls. It also owns the company structure in Paycom, multi-state payroll tax accounts and filings, and the onboarding of each acquired practice into payroll and HR systems.

Key Responsibilities\n

Multi-State, Multi-Entity Payroll

\n

•      Run and oversee 30+ payrolls per month across biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly schedules, including K-1 physician payrolls.

\n

•      Maintain and manage multi-state payroll tax accounts, registrations, and filings for all company entities.

\n

•      Handle garnishments, child support orders, and unemployment claims.

\n

•      Enter and audit employee pay changes and raises in the payroll system.

\n

•      Build PTO plans and accruals in Paycom.

\n

Acquisition Onboarding and Systems

\n

•      Create and maintain all company structures in Paycom, including entities, locations, and reporting hierarchies.

\n

•      Support M&A growth by onboarding and building acquired practices into payroll and HR systems, from tax account setup through employee data and pay configuration.

\n

•      Partner with HR, finance, and practice leadership on acquisition timelines and go-live readiness.

\n

HR Operations and Records

\n

•      Maintain personnel files for all active and terminated employees across all companies.

\n

•      Maintain the HR SharePoint site and centralized HR documentation.

\n

•      Maintain the company directory.

\n

•      Process employment verifications.

\n

Performance and Compensation Processes

\n

•      Support the annual performance review process in Paycom: monitor completion, troubleshoot issues for managers, and review completed evaluations for fairness and appropriateness.

\n

•      Maintain the employee merit increase tracking process.

\n

Communications and Training

\n

•      Create and deliver training for Practice Administrators on payroll and HR processes.

\n

•      Send employee communications, including birthday and anniversary recognition emails.

\n

\n

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus and for Parallel ENT & Allergy’s full benefits package.

Qualifications\n

Required

\n

•      5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including managing multi-state and multi-entity payroll for 500+ employees.

\n

•      Hands-on experience with multi-state payroll tax registration, filings, and reconciliation, and with garnishments, child support orders, and unemployment claims.

\n

•      Experience running different pay frequencies (biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly) and processing owner or partner (K-1) payrolls.

\n

•      Advanced working knowledge of an HRIS and payroll platform (Paycom strongly preferred), including building and maintaining company structures.

\n

•      Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet strict payroll and tax deadlines.

\n

•      Ability to handle confidential employee data with discretion.

\n

•      Clear written and verbal communication and the ability to train non-HR audiences.

\n

Preferred

\n

•      Experience onboarding acquired or newly merged organizations into payroll and HR systems.

\n

•      Experience in healthcare, physician practice, or MSO environments.

\n

•      Payroll certification such as CPP or FPC, or an HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.

\n

•      Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, human resources, or a related field.

\n

•      Experience supporting performance review and merit increase processes.
